Weddings are remembered most for the atmosphere. Everything from the lights to the décor impacts the feeling of a space. So much goes into building something great, but it’s the music surrounding everyone in attendance that makes those moments truly memorable.
I’ve been behind the decks since I was 14-long before I could even drive to my own gigs. What started with a couple of turntables and a passion for making people move has grown into a career I truly love. My journey has taken me from neighborhood parties to some of Indiana’s biggest stages, including four seasons as an official DJ for the Indiana Pacers and Fever, plus events with the Indianapolis Colts.
Today, my full focus is on weddings. There’s nothing like watching a couple’s vision come to life - seeing guests laugh, sing, and dance together in a way that feels completely unique to them.
I founded First Class Sound & Light of Indianapolis over five years ago with one goal: to become one of the top wedding entertainment companies in the city. Now, we perform at dozens of weddings each year, delivering modern style, flawless flow, and high-energy celebrations that keep dance floors packed from start to finish.
Every event is planned with care. From the ceremony’s first note to the final song of the night, I work closely with each couple to design a personalized soundtrack, seamless transitions, and an atmosphere that reflects their style. Music has been Maurice Smith’s lifelong passion. Known on the entertainment scene as DJ Reese, he first fell in love with the art of DJing through the thrill of spinning records and moving a crowd. Teaching himself how to blend and mix tracks, he quickly developed a style defined by versatility, creativity, and adaptability behind the decks. Internationally recognized for crafting infectious dance sounds, DJ Reese has spent the past three years refining his programming skills across a wide range of genres, venues, and audiences. His unique talent lies in blending fresh, modern beats with familiar favorites—creating a vibe that draws listeners in and keeps them moving. From weddings and corporate events to nightclubs and private celebrations, DJ Reese’s sets are packed with energy, warmth, humor, and genuine appreciation for his audience.
